Main entrance & Car Park

Byker Masonic Hall is situated in the suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne. Within in the Province of Northumberland, the building hold meetings for various Masonic Lodges and orders. It also holds social and fundraising events for numerous charities. This easy to get to venue has extremely close bus and Metro links as well as being within a very short distance to Newcastle’s Central Station which is on the Main East Coast Rail network. As well as Newcastle International Airport which serves the city. Travelling by car the Hall also offers a secure gated car park which c/w car park attendant on meeting nights and by arrangement on Social events.

DOUGLAS TEMPLE

The Douglas Temple is our largest temple and with its large capacity is the ideal venue suitable to host many annual meetings. The Temple is also the home of numerous regular Lodge and Chapter meetings as well as other orders. This room is situated on the 1st floor and can be accessed via the the left hand staircase (which is fitted with a stair lift). Changing rooms and toilets are situated on the ground floor accessed via the left hand entrance.

BRAND TEMPLE

The Brand Temple is our second temple and is the home of many regular Lodge and Chapter meetings as well as other orders. With a seating capacity of over 70 it provides adequate seating and floor space but gives a closer feel for all members. This room is situated on the 1st floor and can be accessed via the the right hand staircase. Changing rooms and toilets are situated on the ground floor accessed via the right hand entrance.

SANDELLS TEMPLE

The Sandells Temple is our 3rd and smallest temple which has been used on occasion to hold meetings but is extensively used for practice meetings with two practice slots of 6.30pm and 8pm. This room is situated on the 1st floor and can be accessed via either the left hand staircase (which is fitted with a stair lift) or right hand staircase. Bookings can be made with the diary Secretary and availability can be checked by visiting the building calender page of this website.

COMMITTEE ROOMS

The building has a main committee room on the ground floor is extensively used by the many Lodges and orders within the Hall. Bookings can be made with the diary Secretary and availability can be checked by visiting the building calender page of this website. There is also an additional second committee room at the rear of the building on the first floor.

Our main function room is used during the week to host festive boards but is the ideal venue to host a variety of events from :

Our talented chef Brendan Kelly along with his dedicated kitchen staff and team of waitresses / waiters can offer an extensive range of culinary options to suit every budget and occasion. The top quality food served can range from a full banquet c/w silver service to home made Pie, peas and chips supper and everything in between.

We can assist with contact details for various acts and the Main function room has hosted Bands, Singers, Choirs, Highland Dancers, Bagpipes, Disco’s and many other talented artists. With our bingo machine & projector screen being used on many occasions, with good load in/out access for entertainers as well as dressing room.

Room capacity varies depending on what event is being staged and if a dance floor is required but a full dinning room would be in the region of 150 and a full social event with dance floor would be between 100-120 (again depending on size of dance floor and what space would be required for the band/act).

SECOND FUNCTION ROOM

Our 2nd function room is used during the week to host festive boards but is the ideal for the smaller, more intermit occasions such as Quiz nights and other events as detailed in the main function room only on a smaller scale.

Room capacity varies depending on what event is being staged and normally this smaller more intermit room does not require a dance floor. A full dinning room would be 44 and a full social event with would be in the region of 30-40 (again depending on what event is being planned).

The COLIN HORNER LOUNGE & BAR

The building offers members and their guests a relaxed lounge area and is also used as an additional meeting room for visitation’s, committee meetings and a private bar area for AGM’s.

Our well stocked bar offers a variety of wines, ales and spirits as well as soft drinks and draught beers with specific items which can be sourced by arrangement prior to an event.
